What a great day at South Surrey Bike Park! Thank you all for coming out and enjoying our trails, taking in the race vibe and spending time at the Red Racer beer garden on a sunny day!
The JunkYard Dog Race Village was populated with the many tents and banners of our sponsors and supporters. Title sponsor Daryl Evans Racing and support mechanic, The Bike Zone with Garnaeu tents, Physiomoves Physiotherapy, Tairin Wheels and Little Big Shot. Swag prizes were provided by BC Bike Race, The Bike Zone, Tairin Wheels, RaceFace, Muc-Off, Central City Brewers and Distillers, Nitrolube, Outdoor Gear Canada, North Shore Bike Shop, Orange Sport and Fittek Rok Form. Clif Bar, Little Big Shot and Sea2Sky provided nutritional bars and drinks. There was live video feed throughout the day to our FaceBook Live page and to the Red Racer and Central City FB pages. Be sure to head to any of those sites for a video recap of the day. The SORCE crew made a huge effort with trail prep to detailed course marking and race organization. The biggest turn out for a Shed Toonie XC race was Sunday, March 18. 30 riders took part in the opening race of the 2018 season. Racers were smitten with the great course setup by Brett, the weather was cool but the rain held off. We again served up pulled pork on a bun with coleslaw and a beverage. Awards were presented to the 1, 2 and 3 laps racers. The Bike Zone came with their tent, mechanics gear for those emergency repairs and some cool new bikes from Specialized and Norco to drool over. We had a super swag raffle, again from the generosity of The Bike Zone. THANK YOU! Results at WebScorer. Photos on our FaceBook page.

We handed out over 125 of our new brochures, which includes a guide to the 11 bike parks in Surrey and Delta. Kids politely grabbed about 300 of the cool decals on hand. Our crew was on hand to answer questions and promote all that we do. Jim made some very special posters highlighting the work that SORCE does, making for a great presentation!
